Dimraeth Guide

Reviewed for the live Early Access build

Dimraeth Classes and Races

The store advertises eight races and six classes. The build ships three of each. That gap is the single most common source of confusion in the first days of Early Access, and the developer has been explicit about it, so this page starts by separating the two.

No spoiler

What is playable now#

Three races and three classes ship in the Early Access build. The launch announcement names them, and the developer's pinned Steam FAQ repeats the same list, so this is not an inference from an ambiguous store page.

  • Races in the build: elf, minotaur, human
  • Classes in the build: shadow, mage, brawler
  • The store's current-state answer lists the same three races and the same three classes
  • Both first-party sources agree, which makes this the safest roster statement available

Eight races, six classes, forty-eight archetypes#

The store headline describes combining any of eight races with any of six classes to create forty-eight distinct archetypes, each with its own skill tree and playstyle. That is a statement about the finished game. The same store page, in the answer that describes the current state of the Early Access version, says there are currently three races and three classes.

Reading those two lines as if they describe the same thing produces exactly the confusion visible in the community, where a thread pointing out the eight-race headline against a three-race build drew a long reply chain. The resolution is simple once the two statements are separated: eight and six are the destination, three and three are today.

This guide deliberately does not publish a full forty-eight-entry archetype table. The pairings are arithmetic from an advertised design, not a list of options you can select now, and a table would imply an availability that does not exist.

What has actually been described#

The official website publishes descriptions for some of the roster rather than all of it, and it is worth being precise about how much is real prose versus a name on a list.

  • Minotaur, described first-party as towering beings of formidable strength with a focus on tactics as well as force
  • Human, described first-party as the most populous race of Mirkea, known for ingenuity and adaptability
  • The mage class, presented on the official site under the Magician heading, described as wielding elemental magic blended with weapon strikes
  • The brawler class, described first-party as a close-combat specialist using feral techniques, grappling and agile movement
  • The elf race and the shadow class are named as part of the build but have no comparable published description, so this guide does not invent one

How to choose without a tier list#

There is no responsible ranking for this game yet. Early Access balance moves, the roster is incomplete, and no method exists for comparing builds across a moving target, which is why this site does not publish a tier list. What you can do is choose for the feel you want to learn first.

The official framing is that race and class combine into an archetype with its own skill tree and playstyle, and that your spell loadout is limited to five spells at a time with race and class supplying some spells and crafted spellbooks supplying others. In practice that means your first decision is what kind of combat loop you want to practise, not which combination is strongest.

One useful piece of player-side information: a long pre-launch playthrough describes being able to reset spent points, so a first choice is not necessarily permanent. That is a player report from the open-test build rather than an official statement, and it should be re-checked in the live game before you rely on it.

How the roster grows#

The developer's roadmap is described in the launch announcement as roughly two new race and class updates followed by an Act II story update. The store adds that the full version is planned to bring additional playable races and classes alongside new biomes and zones beyond the current Earlwood and Wildwood regions, an expanded late-game skill and equipment ceiling, more boss encounters, deeper crafting and building, and a longer story arc.

That is direction rather than schedule, and no dates are attached to any of it. If a specific race or class is the reason you are interested, the honest position is that it is planned and undated.

FAQ#

How many races does Dimraeth have right now?

Three: elf, minotaur and human. The eight races advertised on the store describe the finished design, and both the launch announcement and the developer's Steam FAQ confirm three in the current build.

How many classes does Dimraeth have right now?

Three: shadow, mage and brawler. As with races, the six-class figure on the store is the planned total rather than the current count.

Why does the store say eight races and six classes?

Because that is what the full design is planned to contain. The same store page also states, in its description of the current Early Access version, that there are currently three races and three classes. The two statements describe different points in time.

Are there forty-eight playable archetypes now?

No. Forty-eight is what eight races multiplied by six classes will produce once the full roster exists. With three of each, the build offers a much smaller set, and this guide does not publish an archetype table for options that are not selectable.

Can I change my class or race later?

Not confirmed. A pre-launch playthrough describes resetting spent points, which is a player report rather than an official statement, and nothing first-party reviewed here addresses changing race or class. Assume your choice is fixed until you verify otherwise in the live game.
